New York, N.Y., Grace Building
2001
7,000 sq. ft.
A stunning Manhattan view inspired a light-filled suite of offices for a dynamic, newly-formed investment firm. A unique program called for a combination of individual private offices, informal collaborative work spaces, and formal meeting rooms. Clear and rice paper glass walls, framed with cherry wood, allow daylight to filter through the perimeter offices and bring vistas to the internal collaborative areas, including a trading desk, a library/lounge, and a pantry. Doors slide wide open to encourage collaboration, and glide closed for privacy. Behind these subdued surfaces are a network of mechanical systems and miles of power, voice and data wiring all engineered to meet the client's demanding technical requirements.
